In August 2012 the NASA Curiosity rover landed on Mars, equipped with seven different cameras. Every day since it has been diligently taking photos and sending them back to earth, where they are made available to the public through an image archive. The script uses an API which collects these images along with image data and uses this information to create a custom birthday card. Through this personal input the project aims to bring people closer to the subject. It could see use in a museum or exhibition centred around space rovers, where it simultaneously educates visitors and provides a piece of memorabilia to take home.
